Best places to eat in Barbados with kids? We loved the many options on St Lawrence Gap!
Located on the south coast of Barbados, St. Lawrence Gap offers some of the best food in Barbados. Whether you’re looking for a casual spot for lunch or an upscale dinner experience, St. Lawrence Gap has something for everyone. Although there are plenty of fine dining choices, here are our family favourite places to eat in St. Lawrence Gap when visiting with children.
Mimosas
This is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner as it's open from 8am to 11:30pm daily. But the icing on the cake is it’s location, with its balcony seating and ocean frontage where you can spot sea turtles swimming from the deck. Mimosas offers a variety of affordable dishes – everything from pancakes to pizzas and sandwiches to salads and wraps. They also have an extensive smoothie & cocktail menu, plus delicious coffee options as well. The atmosphere is vibrant with a casual dining experience and a bright airy decor. The food was always fresh and delicious - we went back multiple times to try the food offerings at different meal times.
Happy Days Cafe
My Friends Place
My Friends Place is located in the same courtyard area as Happy Days Cafe - they even share tables, however My Friends Place is open in the evenings when Happy Days Cafe is closed. It has just the same welcoming service with the added bonus of evening entertainment. You can visit just for drinks as they have a large selection of drinks on offer including cocktails and mocktails, or you can also grab a bite to eat. The food on offer is fresh, simple and delicious - think chicken wraps, shrimp salads, burgers and fish. We enjoyed a meal and drinks here, topped off by listening to an amazing singer.
Cafe Sol
More information on their menus can be found on their website
Bliss Café
Open for breakfast and lunch, this family run cafe offers fresh and homemade dishes. Bliss by name, bliss by nature - it has a wonderful and chill vibe with trendy decor. Some of their most popular dishes include flatbreads, waffles and omelettes, we really enjoyed our spot of brunch here. Bliss Café also serves up healthy vegan dishes, veggie bowls, wraps, salads, smoothies, acai bowls, and more, made from fresh ingredients sourced locally in Barbados. All which can be enjoyed inside their cozy eatery or outside in their garden seating areas.
No matter what type of cuisine you're craving while visiting St. Lawrence Gap, there's something here that will satisfy your taste buds (and wallet!). So don't forget to check out these must-try, casual, family friendly places during your next visit – we promise you won't regret it! Bon appétit!
